Tenka Daiichi Ramen

This restaurant remains one of my favorite Japanese restaurant since year 2001. I recall I had my first lunch here during my first employment day with Catcha that used to be in KLCC Tower 2.

Jason and me went to this place again for dinner yesterday. By then we realized they had move to another side of Wisma Central, which is next to my another favorite lunch spot - the 'VIP Food Center (Mixed Rice)'. They are bigger now but the atmosphere still remains.

They open during lunch and dinner time but with different menu. You will see Japanese menu during dinner time as they serve many Japanese at night. Feel free to ask for English version menu if you don't read Japanese or get some help from the waiter. The place is quiet as not many people know the place. I personally like the dinner time here.

Talking about the food, the Chicken-Katsu and Pork-Katsu are yummy! They other food like Ma Po Taofu (麻婆豆腐), Wui Wor Meat (回锅肉), Gyoza, and variety of Japanese dishes... which I doesn't know how to call them. You can ask the waiter to recommend you some little dish, else just go ahead with the Port-Katsu set (RM22.90/set).

I strongly recommend you to try this restaurant, regardless lunch or dinner time, they are basically different atmosphere but with good food. You may park your car at KLCC and walk over to Wisma Central, or park at Wisma Central with RM5 per entry at night.

Yum Yum Putu Mayam

Snack that I always love!

I'm not good in describing the food ingredient and process of making it... Let's do a copy and paste from Wiki XD

PUTU MAYAM is a sweet dish. It is popular in southern India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, as a snack or breakfast food.

The process for making PUTU MAYAM (also known as string hoppers in English) consists of mixing rice flour or idiyappam flour with water and/or coconut milk, and pressing the dough through a sieve to make vermicelli-like noodles. These are steamed, usually with the addition of juice from the aromatic pandan leaf (screwpine) as flavouring. The noodles are served with grated coconut and jaggery, or, preferably, gur (date palm sugar). In some areas, gula melaka (coconut palm sugar) is the favourite sweetener.

Putu piring is a Malaysian version of PUTU MAYAM in which the rice flour dough is used to form a small cake around a filling of coconut and gur or jaggery. PUTU MAYAM is also closely related to the Malaysian cendol which substitutes green pea flour for the rice flour in making the noodles. In all forms of the dish, pandan flavouring, as an extract or as chopped leaves, is typical.

In Malaysia and Singapore, PUTU MAYAM and its relatives are commonly sold as street food from market stalls or carts, as well as being made at home, and are usually served cold.

In Indonesia, putu mayam is called Putu mayang.

The origins of these dishes may stem from southern India, where a similar rice flour noodle is served with sugar and coconut, and sometimes banana too, as iddiyappam. This dish may be eaten for breakfast with a vegetable stew or aviyal, or a fish curry, etc. The same liking for serving the slightly sweet PUTU MAYAM, putu piring, or cendol with savoury dishes also occurs in Malaysia and Singapore. Iddiyappam is typical of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and other southern Indian states, as well as Sri Lanka. A very finely ground, commercial iddiyapam flour is sold as a sort of "instant" way to make all of these dishes.

Sorry, I didn't take much photo on the foods, rather, I prefer to take the photo that describe more on the envinroment. I always like the cement-finishing floor, wooden furnishing and minimalist design. Joyoga got the element that I like.

Today's Imbi Plaza

I went to Imbi Plaza for buying cables about 4months back.
This place used to full of crowd and noise but things are different now.
I was busy working at here daily about 11years ago. The feeling hit me when I see most of the shops are closed down and touch when seeing familiar faces still sitting at the same place doing their job. Do we call this loyal or ...?
